NEW ALBANY, OH (September 11, 2025) – Edged US celebrated yesterday the opening of its newest state-of-the-art data center in New Albany, Ohio, less than 20 minutes from Downtown Columbus. Purpose-built for Artificial Intelligence (AI) training and inference at scale, the facility delivers 24 MW of critical capacity to the Silicon Heartland while setting new benchmarks for sustainable digital infrastructure.
The event was attended by New Albany Mayor Sloan Spalding, New Albany officials, leaders from the economic development community, local electric utility provider AEP and key project partners.
“New Albany’s International Business Park has become a leading destination for data centers and mission critical operations, and Edged Columbus is an outstanding addition to that momentum. What sets Edged US apart is their commitment to sustainability—saving millions of gallons of water each year and dramatically reducing energy use. Their values align closely with our community pillars, especially environmental sustainability, and we are proud to welcome them as a partner in building a stronger, more sustainable economic landscape,” said Mayor Sloan Spalding, City of New Albany.
Unlike traditional data centers that strain the power grid and consume billions of gallons of water each year, Edged Columbus is designed for efficiency at every level. The site is outfitted with ThermalWorks advanced waterless cooling system, which is expected to save more than 92 million gallons of water per year while supporting ultra-high densities—up to 70 kW per rack with air cooling and 200 kW per rack with plug-and-play liquid cooling.
“This project would not have been possible without the support of the City of New Albany who has been unwavering in its vision of bringing technology to the region in a thoughtful, sustainable way,” said Bryant Farland, President & Chief Executive Officer for Edged US. “This Edged facility is purpose-built for AI at scale and shows how advanced design can meet growing digital demand. With ultra-energy efficient systems and waterless cooling, we’re delivering reliable capacity while conserving resources and supporting the region’s economic future.”
The facility’s ultra-efficient design delivers an industry-leading average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.15 portfolio-wide, reducing energy overhead by 72% compared with the global average PUE of 1.54 reported by the Uptime Institute.
Edged US has a gigawatt-scale project pipeline and a growing network of data centers currently operating or under construction across North America, including in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Des Moines, Kansas City and Phoenix.
